Newsletter June.-2011

Well we are now in the baseball season. We have 95 kids signed up and may reach 100 before the seasons end. As far as we know we are the largest in Kentucky for the 4th year in a row and it looks like we have one of the largest Special Needs baseball leagues in the whole United States. This is due to the parents that has help spread the word and all the great volunteers that has helped out.

Next we are going to host a 1st Annual Special Needs Awareness Fair. It will be open to everyone with any disability any age and their family and friends along with the public. We have invited groups that works with kids and adults with disabilities to set up a booth. All booths will be set up in a fair or carnival type theme (popcorn, candy apples, cotton candy, funnel cakes, games etc). Each booth will also be set up with their information and a donation jar for their organization along with inflatable's for the kids and hopefully some more goodies. The date for this is July 30th at Lewis Lane Baptist Church from 11am - 2 pm. This should not only be a fun time for all but a time for all the groups to work together for the same cause. There is still time for more groups so if you know of a group that you would like to see there, let them know as we may miss someone.

The swimming program is still on the schedule. This will be a fun-therapeutic- and hopefully learning event. This will be held in August and September at the Health Park. We will have life vests for the kids and there will be life guards there as well.
Then the last event of the year will be basketball & cheerleading. Once again thanks to every one for everything you have done.
